Ice Production

Our manufacturing plant has two industrial ice machines (a 60 ton and a 20 ton machine), holding bins, packaging rooms and two (2) cold storage rooms. The factory is also equipped with a water purification system that treats the water at its source to meet international purified water standards in ice manufacturing.

The Ice-Making Process

  1. Firstly, incoming city water passes through various stages of water treatment and purification processes, removing all minerals, sedimentation & impurities. It is then passed through an ultraviolet (UV) light which kills 99.9% of bacteria.
  2. The purified water is then sent to the state of the art industrial ice making machines, forming solid, clear and pure ice.
  3. The tube-ice then passes through a stainless steel auger feed to a stainless steel rake bin (storage bin). Via conveyor belt, the ice sent to a semi-automated production area where it is package. The packaging process requires that the various size bags are held under the bagging machine for filling.
  4. The bags are tied using an automated tying machine, sacked into a baler bag, sealed and palletized for storage in our cold rooms where the ice is allowed the time to solidify further.
  5. After an extended period in our cold rooms, the palletized ice is loaded onto our refrigerated ice trucks or trailers for distribution to our customers across the island.
  6. A computerized route management system aids in providing efficient delivery routing and instant invoicing by drivers’ handheld machines.
